Thanks so much for joining us as we delve into a closer relationship with God through prayer. Read below to know learn a little bit about me.
I was raised in Upstate New York being the oldest of five; three sisters and a brother. Typical family, dad worked and mom raised kids. There is a span of ten years between myself and my youngest sister so you know that home was busy!!! I married and became an Air Force wife. My daughter and son-in-law have given me two beautiful grand-daughters. AND, I am remarried to a wonderful man (also Air Force – do you see a trend here) and have two great teenagers in my life as well!!!
Being an Air Force wife took me to live in California, Virginia, Nebraska, and Colorado (which will hopefully be my last place of residence). In all of these states I was fortunate to attend churches of different sizes, denominations, and practices. A church in California holds a very special place in my heart as that is where I returned to a committed relationship with the Lord. While living in Omaha, NE I had the opportunity to complete 2 years of spiritual counseling and spiritual warfare training at a charismatic church that was doing marvelous work for Christ in that city. Working in the homeless mission there gave me a view of a life without hope and so it makes sense that it was also in Omaha where I heard God’s call on my life as an intercessor. It was in Virginia where I first found the confidence to function in the role as an intercessor. Colorado has brought me many opportunities to work in prayer ministry and ministry to people. One opportunity presented to me was to complete a hospital Chaplain Residency program. Meeting people in their time of need due to medical issues opens the door for spiritual discussion about mortality.
I have worshipped in a Brethren church where women could not speak during portions of the worship service except through their husbands, an Assembly of God church where the Pastor’s wife walked the mall talking to teens and winning them to Christ, a Church of Christ where I studied scripture with an incredible group of women who helped me grow in my faith, and there are more. In each area of the country, I gained insight into how people practice their faith and live their lives to the glory of God.
Elohim Prayer Beads ministry was born through a difficult circumstance that required an innovative way to focus on prayer. Recently while going through that difficult time, I found my concentration during prayer was difficult to maintain. As I began to think about what might help, I decided to put together a bead strand and attach a prayer of thanksgiving to each bead. I hoped that if I touched the bead while praying it might help me focus on my prayer. It really did!!! I began giving bead strands to others who could use focused prayer support during difficult times. The feedback I received was that prayer beads are a phenomenal way to maintain focus during prayer. So I contacted my dear friend and sister-in-Christ, Shelley, and off we went; Elohim Prayer Beads was born.
So, there you have it!!! I am thrilled you are joining us on a journey of being close to God through prayer. I hope you will visit often and give us your feedback as well.
Blessings,
Carol
